All flowers are British-grown and mostly home-dried by us in our studio space. Materials used to construct will be fully compostable. All abilities welcome! £58 per person includes tuition, unlimited choice of materials, tea and cake.

Designs should last.. forever! Colours may fade slightly over time if in direct light, but with the right care dried flower wreaths should last for years.

Floral Lunch Club *Autumn Edition*

October 14th

£28

Re-introducing the floral lunch club to 2024 - a much discussed community event set to launch in 2020... but unfortunately the world had other plans! The lunch club is designed as an informal networking event offering a chance to meet fellow florists and growers in the area. Whether you're looking for a career change and wondering how to start your floristry journey, are more established business looking to meet new freelancers, or a grower looking to meet new customers. We hope to bring people together for a sociable event, and leave you walking away feeling connected, supported, and with a phone full of new contacts.

Of course the fun doesn't just stop there! Also included in the event will be a laid-back floral craft as we collaboratively make a dried flower curtain. Using dried blooms and a needle and string, you can contribute to a larger hanging curtain whilst chatting away! How much you create is down to your own determination and multi-tasking ability!! But there is at least an opportunity for you to take something else away with you by the end of the afternoon.

To top it all there is (of course) a delicious home-cooked healthy vegetarian lunch, hot drinks and cakes. Other dietary requirements and food preferences can also be catered for.

Flower Skills Expansion & End of Season Play!

October 20th

£75

Join us for a day of creative fun as we wrap up our growing season with some informative chat and a chance to experiment. An ideal opportunity to build confidence and expand your existing abilities through this sociable skill-expansion class. Designed for hobbyists, florists, or growers with some experience already, but may suffer from a lack of experience, an inconsistent workload, or confidence wobbles and imposter syndrome. Our aim is to allow you space to experiment whilst equipping you with tips and tricks to work on and continue practicing throughout the seasons ahead.

There is also the option to bring your own flowers! Two ticketed options give you the choice - ideal if you sometimes feel like you always end up doing the same thing with your preferred or most frequently-used blooms. Or just a good chance to clear the decks of your last remaining Autumn flowers.

Content includes:

- Bridal bouquet practice with demo of how to use a chicken wire 'egg' (hidden mechanic). Bouquet 'eggs' are ideal for creating space within a bouquet, giving that beautiful airy look without using tons of materials. They make a great versatile mechanic allowing access to a wider range of bouquet shapes and styles to experiment with whilst keeping better control and refinement.

- Group introductions and networking opportunity over a tea and cake break. Admire each others bouquets and chat about the 2024 growing season and plans for the year ahead. Lois will also share information about client boundaries and how to better-manage client expectations for those interested. Delicious homemade refreshments included.

- Leftovers group play at Gaydon's St Giles Church. Confidence-building opportunity to contribute to a wild Autumnal installation, including foam-free meadow-style arrangements, urns, and taller pieces. We will walk around to our neighbouring church to dress either the main entrance or altar space (weather dependant). Do as much as you like or watch and observe how the group works together. A great chance to see what comes naturally to you, see how capable you probably already are, and take pictures of arrangements in situ!

All attendees will need to bring:

- A vase or container to be incorporated in the installation, see photo guidance. Best to bring 2+ options. This will give you a chance to think outside the box in terms of how to use a vase you might use often or easily overlook. This also means you can take elements of the installation home with you.

If you opt to bring your own flowers, you will also need to bring:

- 40+ stems for the bridal bouquet practice, including large, medium, and small blooms and foliage. If you know you are a quick worker, you're welcome to make full-use of the practice time by bringing double and making another smaller bouquet.

- 60+ stems for the installation, including some flowers, foliage, and any textural elements. Tall branches are an optional extra.

- The above stem predictions are based on the average size expected in October for British-grown blooms. We would prefer anyone bringing their own flowers to be British-grown, so as a whole our group installation can be cohesive. Please just let us know if you have any questions regarding this.

Ticket options: Flowers Not Included £75 / Flowers Included £125

Lessons of a Flower Farmer - with Lois and Anna Brown

Coming Soon

£35

Enjoy some tea, cake, and garden chat in this informal and sociable class with Lois of Little Garden and Anna of Browns Flowers. Each speaking from either-end of the flower farming spectrum, Lois and Anna will cover their biggest highs and lows in the garden, sharing tips, tricks, ideas, and casual discussion about their experience of growing.

Both Lois and Anna are self taught 'get-on-with-it' gardeners, and share many similarities in their energetic approach, but have just as many differences in the scales they work. Anna runs a (very full) 1 acre flower field providing cut flowers for florists from April-October with her small team and family. Working alongside her main colleague Phil - who humbly holds a 30 year career working with plants - Anna's garden approach is often influenced by fairly old-school practices combined with a lot of tried-and-tested experience of running her field for 6 years.

Lois' experience is more paralleled to an allotment-scale, growing mainly in her mums garden in Gaydon (which you may mooch about during the class). Primarily working as a florist, Lois' focus over the years has been squeezing in a lot with her limited time! Growing a wide variety of low-maintenance plants in smaller quantities, whilst trying to implement no-dig principles into a flower patch which also serves as an ornamental garden.

£35 includes hot drinks, cakes, and free roam of the gardens. Suitable for anyone with an interest in plants and gardens. The focus of discussion will start with our flower-farming experience, but then spread into all aspects of gardening with lots of questions encouraged from all attendees.
